Results
We have
engineered collagen-spidroin 2 heteropolymeric clones of different sizes
using a PCR based method. A synthetic heteropolymeric gene of 587 bp
was made and introduced into yeast. Western blot analysis (Figure 2)
shows the presence of the copolymer protein into the culture media.
This synthetic
heteropolymeric gene has been moved into a plant expression vector for
transgenic expression in tobacco protoplasts.
The recombinant
proteins were produced in recombinant yeasts and detected at different
time points after induction of protein synthesis.
