Results

Gene constructs containing multiple units of spidroin 2-type repeat sequences have been made, and one of these gene constructs (pS2.340) was introduced in yeast (Pichia pastoris) for protein production (Figure 1). The synthetic spidroin 2 fiber protein produced was successfully extracted and purified and will be characterized and used for spinning.
