There is literaly a plethora of accesories thatare mostly "drop-in", or require little or no handwork to mate to the weapon. Wilson Combat provides a good deal of these. Another excellent source of parts for 1911's is ED Brown. Les Baer is considered by some as nothing less than phenomenal as a gunsmith and manufacturer. Look at the Para-Ordinances he modifies.
