The 1911 style .45 Automatic is one of the most copied pistol designs of all time. It is reliable, strong, and accurate. There is literaly a plethora of accesories thatare mostly "drop-in", or require little or no handwork to mate to the weapon. Wilson Combat provides a good deal of these. These links will take you to some ofthe pages on the web that explore the workhorse of the competitive community.

GUNSITE is Jeff Cooper's premier training facilityin Arizona. You NEED to go here.

If you are a Jeff Cooper fan, THIS LINKMay be of some interest to you.

However, even if you have no idea who Jeff Cooper is, you may recognize Wilson Combat, the gun parts company started by Bill Willson.

Another excellent source of parts for 1911's is ED Brown. His parts are generally ready to use and very well machined.

Les Baer is considered by some as nothing less than phenomenal as a gunsmith and manufacturer. Look at the Para-Ordinances he modifies.
