Did you know that most hackers never cause any intentional damage?

Are you aware that data damage can occur just by you gaining access to a server without the administrator's permission?

Most hackers are males under 30?

Most hackers are just curious and want to learn more about that operating system?

In many cases, if you would just ask the system administrator, he/she could give you an account and teach you about Unix, VMS, or whatever sytem they run. (Even Windoze).
