Shooting Sports

One thing that is near and dear to my heart competing against others on the firing line. There is no feeling like competition, and the shooting community offers all types of competitions. Of the compe titions, these are the most popular:

Practical Pistol Competition

A sport that has been around for several years and was started by police officers. It was the practical police competition until the matches were opened to the public. Then the ackronym took on its present meaning. The course of fire varies depending on where the match is fired, and the Range Officer(s) in charge of the shoot. The pre- fered weapons for this type of competition are mildly worked over 1911 pattern 45 autos, or Smith & Wesson revolvers in 38 caliber that have been modified. The most common modifications are adjustable rear sights from Bo-Mar, Witchita, or a reputable manufacturer.
