Clive Staples (C.S.) Lewis
Cosmic Trilogy or Ransome Trilogy
C.S. Lewis is best known for his Narnia books. A popular children's fantasy series, it is allegorical in nature and uses many devices of SF, including time travel, alternate dimensions, and parallel worlds. A better example of his work that crosses the SF and Fantasy genres is his Cosmic Trilogy which follows the work of the linguist Dr. Ransom, who, like Christ, is at one point offered as a ransom for mankind. The first two novels are planetary romances involving elements of medieval mythology. The third volume, is set on a contemporary Earth.
