1976 - 1981 Honda Accord CVCC Special Tools


The following tables list the tools I have found useful in working on 1976 - 1981 Honda Accords. In the "Tools from other Vendors" table, I've listed tools which either make certain tasks easier or tools required for certain tasks and not commonly found in the average tool collection.

07708-0020001 Rear Brake Adjusting Wrench Allows adjustment of rear brakes w/o removing the rear wheels.
07923-6890101 Mainshaft holder Prevents manual transmission mainshaft from moving during transmission disassembly.
17342-671-000 Engine Hanger Bracket Attaches to the head providing a hanger for attaching the engine to a crane when removing the engine from a 76-81 Honda Accord with AC. This bracket is present on cars without AC. The bracket should be mounted to the head using two M10 X 45 (1.25 thread pitch, fine, Honda P/N 90086-671-000) bolts of metric grade 8.8 or better.

Honda N/A Honda All Season Antifreeze/Antiboil The best coolant for Honda engines. Does not contain silicates or other ingredients which are harmful to Honda engines and water pumps. Good for 3 years or 45,000 miles.
